
Katherine is a professional with over 30 years of experience in logistics. She is a Senior Manager in Manufacturing and Engineering in the defense industry, where accountability, problem-solving, and delivering results are essential. A proud graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, she currently holds a Six Sigma Certification. Katherine has navigated the full life cycle of parenting a student in Burlington Public Schools through to graduation and is excited to be the proud parent of a child pursuing her PhD in School Psychology at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center. As an engaged member of the community, she also follows the Burlington Election and the decisions made by the Burlington School Committee.

Katherine recognizes that mental health supports for our youngest students must be layered in order to understand, and target the root cause of anything disrupting a student's readiness to learn. Katherine is committed to advancing the efforts of our educators and the families that support our most vulnerable students.
As Vice Chair of the Burlington School Committee, Katherine conducts fair, open, and inclusive meetings in full compliance with MA Open Meeting Laws. Additionally, she serves as Vice Chair of the Fox Hill Building Committee and appoints numerous subcommittees. She proudly represents Burlington Public Schools at the community, state, and federal levels, actively participating in the Burlington Election process.
Katherine serves as Vice Chair of the Fox Hill New School Building Project, which is an important initiative for the Burlington Public Schools. She hopes to continue leveraging her professional experience reviewing RFPs, RFIs, and negotiating contracts with major corporations. These skills are imperative to delivering new school buildings to the Burlington community, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget, particularly in light of the upcoming Burlington Election and its implications for the Burlington School Committee.
Katherine served on the DEI selection committee for the Burlington School Committee. She is committed to supporting equity and inclusion for all students in each of Burlington's schools, reinforcing her dedication to the values upheld in Burlington Public Schools as part of the Burlington MA community.
Katherine believes that to best educate and support students in Burlington, we must also focus on the continued education of our teachers and staff within the Burlington Public Schools. Katherine is committed to delivering the specialized seminars, research tools, and training that our educators need to ensure both our students and staff thrive, especially as we approach the Burlington Election and work with the Burlington School Committee.
Katherine serves as one of two liaisons to the Burlington Special Education Parent Advisory Council, actively participating in the Burlington Public Schools community. She is dedicated to ensuring that every student's unique educational needs are met within a culture of kindness and inclusion, which is essential as we approach the Burlington Election and continue to support the Burlington School Committee's efforts.
Katherine served on the Transportation Committee in Burlington, where she contributed to the implementation of Safe Routes to School. She also collaborated with the Select-board to create a plan that provides rides for students from their after-school activities, supporting Burlington Public Schools and the Burlington School Committee's initiatives.
For over 4 years, I have served on the BHS Council, contributing to the Burlington Public Schools community. I am currently the BHSA Director of Fundraising and have held the position of Vice President at BSTC. Additionally, I have been the Treasurer for the WFSC at the Burlington Ice Palace for 12 years. I also had the pleasure of being the Head Coach for Pop Warner Cheer for 4 years and am proud to be a team sponsor for the BHS Varsity Figure Skating Team as we approach the Burlington Election.
